On behalf of the entire membership of the Moses Montefiore Congregation, thank you for your interest in the Jewish community of the Fox Cities and our synagogue.
We are an egalitarian, conservative congregation. We provide religious and spiritual support for our members, people who vary greatly in their religious backgrounds and levels of Jewish education. We attempt to provide a level of religious support that meets the needs of this diverse membership.
We cordially invite you and your family to attend services as our guests. You will find them to be warm and highly participatory. We are located at 1620 N. Meade Street in Appleton, Wisconsin. Friday Night services (mostly in English) begin at 7:30 PM and last about an hour. Following the service is an Oneg where you can meet many of our members.
Shabbat morning services (a more traditional Hebrew service) begin at 9:30 AM , with Torah services at 10:00 AM , and are usually completed by 11:30 AM . A Kiddush follows these services. We have an active Sisterhood, Men’s Club, adult education program, and Hadassah chapter, as well as a flourishing Sunday/Hebrew School. You are welcome to attend any of our events and see for yourself why we are so proud of our synagogue.
Should you decide to become members, be reassured that our “Fair Share” dues system will allow you to join at a rate which fits your income and needs.

Do a mitzvah -- and have fun at the same time!
We're looking for volunteers to run Bingo games
for the residents of Manor Care Health Services
From the Social Action Committee : As part of the congregation' s Social Action program, our Teen Group has run monthly bingo games at Manor Care Health Services for the past two years. Since many of the kids are not available during the summer, we did not schedule games last June, July, and August, but I'm hoping that perhaps this year we can. The residents who attend these games really look forward to them, so I hate to make them wait until September to play again.
Judy and I are willing to commit to a monthly, Sunday morning (9:45- 11am ) game for the summer months. Technically, we could run the games on our own. However, some players have a difficult time hearing , seeing, marking their cards, and/or understanding when they've won a game, so it's good to have a few more volunteers available to provide assistance. Frankly, the volunteers who take this particular role end up having the most rewarding experience -- just ask any of the Teen Group participants.
