The Moses Montefiore Congregation has an integrated Religious School program which incorporates the Sunday School and Hebrew School into a comprehensive program.
All grades below third meet only on Sundays from 10am - noon. Beginning in the third grade and running through B'nai Mitzvah, our classes meet on Wednesday from 4-5:45PM, as well as on Sunday mornings. Additional individual preparation for Bar and Bat Mitzvah is scheduled during additional hours of the week.
We will have an "Abba, Eema, and Me" group for childre (up through kindergarten age) and their parents for an hour to an hour and a half if there is sufficient interest in the fall. The emphasis will be on hands-on activities.
Our curriculum includes history, holidays, life cycle, ethics, bible studies, Israel, Hebrew reading, and liturgy and Jewish identity (including cooking). Our school calendar approximately parallels the public school year.
As a small congregational school we are able to accommodate the individual personalities and needs of students through small classes.
Our Youth Group for post B'nai Mitzvah youth meets on some Sunday mornings as well as for guided events throughout the year.
