Moses Montefiore Synagogue - Our Religious School
Moses Montefiore Congregation
Our Religious School

The Moses Montefiore Congregation has instituted an integrated Religious School program which incorporates the Sunday School and Hebrew School into a comprehensive program.

Our early childhood program is open to all Jewish children in the area and begins with pre-K, and includes the monthly "Torah Tots" Service. All grades under third meet only on Sundays.

Beginning in the third grade and running through B'nai Mitzvah, our classes meet on Wednesday afternoons and Sunday mornings. Intensive preparation for Bar and Bat Mitzvah often is scheduled during additional hours of the week. Our Youth Group for post B'nai Mitzvah youth meets on Sunday mornings as well as for guided events throughout the year.

Religious School
PARENTS: Please take note of the schedule below. We are requesting that Religious School students attend services, especially the Family Services on the first Friday of every month. At that service, different Religious School classes will lead small sections of the service (like the Shema, Adon Olam, etc.). Your participation and help with these activities will greatly enhance your child's Jewish education.

Toda Raba
We have started a new Tzedaka challenge! Our Sunday School classes earn stars (and points) depending on how many of the students in each class participate in offering tzedaka. At the end of the challenge, the winning class will get to decide which charity receives the money. Please remember to participate every Sunday!

Our school calendar approximately parallels the public school year.
