Moses Montefiore Synagogue - Welcome
Moses Montefiore Congregation

On behalf of the entire membership of the Moses Montefiore Congregation, thank you for your interest in the Jewish community of the Fox Cities and our synagogue.

We are an egalitarian, conservative congregation.  We provide religious and spiritual support for our members, people who vary greatly in their religious backgrounds and levels of Jewish education.  We attempt to provide a level of religious support that meets the needs of this diverse membership.

The Moses Montefiore Synagogue conducts Shabbat Services Friday evenings (mostly in English) and Saturday mornings (a more traditional Hebrew service). They are warm and highly participative.

We cordially invite you and your family to attend our services as our guests.  We are located at 1620 N. Meade Street in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Friday Night services begin at 7:30 PM and last about an hour. Following the service is an Oneg where you can meet many of our members.

Shabbat morning services begin at 9:30 AM , with Torah services at 10:00 AM , and are usually completed by 11:30 AM .  A Kiddush follows these services.

We have an active Sisterhood, Men’s Club, adult education program, and Hadassah chapter, as well as a flourishing Sunday/Hebrew School.

You are welcome to attend any of our events and see for yourself why we are so proud of our synagogue.  We use the “Fair Share” dues system, which will allow you to join at a rate which fits your income and needs.

If you have questions, call 920-733-1848 or email our Synagogue Chairman or our Membership Chairman
