On behalf of the entire membership of the Moses Montefiore Congregation, thank you for your interest in the Jewish community of the Fox Cities and our synagogue.
We are an egalitarian, conservative congregation. We provide religious and spiritual support for our members, people who vary greatly in their religious backgrounds and levels of Jewish education. We attempt to provide a level of religious support that meets the needs of this diverse membership.
We cordially invite you and your family to attend services as our guests. You will find them to be warm and highly participatory. We are located at 1620 N. Meade Street in Appleton, Wisconsin. Friday Night services (mostly in English) begin at 7:30 PM and last about an hour. Following the service is an Oneg where you can meet many of our members. Shabbat morning services (a more traditional Hebrew service) begin at 9:30 AM , with Torah services at 10:00 AM , and are usually completed by 11:30 AM . A Kiddush follows these services. We have an active Sisterhood, Men’s Club, adult education program, and Hadassah chapter, as well as a flourishing Sunday/Hebrew School. You are welcome to attend any of our events and see for yourself why we are so proud of our synagogue.
Should you decide to become members, be reassured that our “Fair Share” dues system will allow you to join at a rate which fits your income and needs.
If you have questions, call 920-733-1848 or email our Synagogue Chairman or Membership Chairman (see Contact Us).

BIKKUR CHOLIM (visiting the sick or infirmed)
We now have a small group of volunteers who are able and willing to visit members who are ill and, in certain cases, provide other needed services, such as running errands, taking the person to a medical appointment, etc.
This is a very important function of a synagogue, but it can only be provided if we know when a person is in need of a visit. We strongly encourage you to contact Stu Dolnick when you become aware of such a situation: 920-830-6716.
